Attention all dinosaur enthusiasts: Universal Pictures has unveiled the first glimpse of the fourth instalment in the “Jurassic World” franchise. The film, titled “Jurassic World Rebirth,” is slated for release on 2nd July 2025 and is set five years after the events of “Jurassic World: Dominion” (2022).

In “Jurassic World Rebirth,” the number of dinosaurs has dwindled, and the remaining creatures live within designated areas. A research team is dispatched to collect genetic material from these surviving specimens, as it is crucial for developing a life-saving medication. However, the team becomes stranded on a mysterious island during their mission.

Scarlett Johansson in Lead Role

Hollywood star Scarlett Johansson, 39, takes on the role of the expedition leader, alongside “Bridgerton” favourite Jonathan Bailey, 36, who plays a palaeontologist, and Oscar-winner Mahershala Ali, 50, who portrays another team member. Universal has released two stills from the film, featuring the three actors on their perilous expedition.

Joining them in the cast are Rupert Friend, 42, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, 43, and Ed Skrein, 41. As the film introduces a new storyline with an entirely new set of characters, previous stars such as Chris Pratt, 45, Bryce Dallas Howard, 43, and Laura Dern, 57, will not be returning.

The film is directed by Gareth Edwards, 49, with a screenplay by David Koepp, 61, who previously worked on “Jurassic Park” (1993) and its sequel “The Lost World” (1997) by Steven Spielberg, 77. The “Jurassic Park” franchise originally released three blockbuster films from 1993 to 2001, followed by three more under the “Jurassic World” banner starting in 2015.
